Guide Review - Hotel Monaco-Hotel Review
The Hotel Monaco is an extraordinary, 184-room hotel right in the heart of the city. The building is a recent restoration of a post office building, a national historic landmark, originally built in 1839. The Monaco takes up a whole city block, near the MCI Center, the Convention Center, Ford's Theater, the International Spy Museum and Chinatown. The National Mall and Capitol Hill are slightly further away but still within walking distance. The d¨Ścor is stylishly modern providing an interesting contrast to the exterior. The lobby is inviting with its bright colors and several uniquely decorated spaces to lounge. Guest rooms are spacious, some with over 12 foot vaulted ceilings. In-room amenities include comfortable workspace, cordless phone, two line data ports and complimentary high-speed internet access. The restaurant, Poste - Moderne Brasserie, is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and features contemporary American cuisine. The dining room maintains the modern motif, with high ceilings and mirrored walls.
