Cheap Motels - A good overnight staying option.

Many cities combat the illegal activities that occur at the cheaper motels by upgrading the facilities with cameras, and by installing lighting fixtures throughout the complex. Many sting operations are set up by the vice squads at the police department at low rent district brothels, and these operations are designed to be a deterrent and to target the patrons of the prostitutes that use these low priced lodging locations to conduct their business.

The cheaper places to sleep offer a drug addict a low-rent option but the facilities are used for other purposes too. The cheap motels are often turned into places where crack addicts can purchase their drugs and use them quickly in the rooms that they cheapen further by their drug use in the sparse bedrooms. Many managers try to deter the drug trafficking at their cheaply priced accommodations by requiring identification and checking with the police department for warrants before the room can be rented.

The City council members have terminated the future of many low priced motels. City ordinance violations and fire code violations have closed the doors on many of the worn down motels. Some cities have turned the land that these outdated motels are built on over to the planning department, and several months later the eyesore has disappeared and a new government high-rise building is being raised on the land.

Many people consider the darkened buildings to be eye-sores that affect their families in one way or another. Parents submit complaints to the City Council because they are concerned about the cheap motels because their children must pass by them on the way to school each day. Some of these multi-room buildings could be saved if the owner would be willing to do a bit of landscaping, and agree to paint the outside of their buildings.

Children might not be scared to pass the bleak multi-level buildings if they were not so dark and gloomy. The building code violations could be repaired to bring the buildings back to a level of habitability that would be good for drawing in a higher level of renters. Tourism could improve quite a bit with a little bit of cosmetic repairs to the interiors and exteriors of the buildings. Then the neighborhood would probably realize that their community is not so cheap anymore, and some might even choose to move back in and spend their money and time in that area of town.
